Three younger youngsters in Virginia had been hospitalized after consuming Goldfish crackers laced with THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana that makes individuals excessive.
The youngsters, all 1-year-old, had been taken to the native hospital on March 2 due to their glassy, bloodshot eyes and torpid, uncoordinated habits, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned on Fb.
All three youngsters had been at a licensed dwelling day care in an area subdivision. A deputy went to the day care and “collected goldfish crackers across the highchairs of the toddlers. These crackers had been despatched to the lab for testing and confirmed the presence of THC,” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.
The day care surrendered its license to function and the proprietor, Rebecca Swanner, 60, was charged with 3 counts of cruelty and harm to youngsters, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned. She surrendered April 14 and was launched on $2,000 unsecured bond.
Authorities didn’t say how the THC received into the crackers or give the situation of the hospitalized youngsters. Stafford County is about 40 miles south of Washington, DC.
